Winner of EDGE 2010 at INTEROP 2010, Mumbai, Bombay Exhibition Center

EDGE - Enterprises Driving Growth and Excellence (using IT) is an initiative by Network Computing to identify, recognize and honor end-user companies in India that have demonstrated the best use of technology to solve a business problem, improve business competitiveness, and deliver quantifiable ROI to stakeholders.

Our call for nominations received a phenomenal response, with more than 170 companies across India submitting their entries. In the first phase, redundant and incomplete entries were removed from the list. Based on an internal assessment framework that focused broadly on the parameters of innovation, cost savings, scale and efficiency, this list was subsequently narrowed down to 75 companies.

Surging Ahead with IT by Ravish Jhala in PCQuest June'10

HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
Ravish Jhala, Systems Manager, Trident, Bandra Kurla, Mumbai

Key challenges faced by industry, but not resolved by using IT
We have implemented multiple operations-oriented software in our hotel, like a real-time Visitor Management System, Go Concierge software at the front desk to handle all guest requests and information updates, Glitch process handling for operations teams to be able to resolve issues and identify trends and an RFID based system for elevator and guest room access.
Business models like cloud computing, virtualization and new services software are going to have a major impact on the hotel information technology industry in the near future.
The I.T. Manager of the future needs to keep a close watch on the development and utilization of these models and literally surf the trends to enable him to be at the right place, at the right time...with the right I.T. solution!
IT solutions seriously considering to deploy in the near future
Consolidation of IT, MPS and DPS technology to save printing cost, Virtualisation, etc...

PCQuest nomination: Best IT Implementation of the year 2010

Trident Bandra, Krula, Mumbai : GoConcierge.net

Before implementation of this automation solution the major pain area for Concierge team was to manually keep track of guest notes, guest activities, and database maintenance and keep on updating areas of interest for a guest. The complete process was very time consuming and to add to it there was high cost involved for printing and stationery. Manual reminders and follow-up process, manual reports generating and checking for accuracy of data were also needed. The sharing of data was again a big nightmare. Even for department head, monitoring concierge operations was not easy and they needed to keep track and make sure that the guest information was updated in the logbooks in time to avoid any service issues. To overcome all these issues, GoConcierge application (a web based workflow application) which can be accessed any time anywhere to monitor concierge department was implemented. Adopting GoConcierge has allowed this hotel to transition away from a paper based process and made their operations more efficient. All this has resulted in better customer satisfaction.
